Casual (No-Drop) / Rolling Hills

One day. 15 locations. One cause. We are again joining up with Blacksheep Cycling to bring you their second consecutive Global Man Ride. The ride is designed to raise awareness for a subject that is treated like a dark secret and shining a light on the growing rate of depression, anxiety and suicide. We are lending our voice and influence and hope you will too.

*PLEASE READ*
We anticipate an average of 25-26km/h.

We will leave at 7am from Domestique Cyclewear, head over Bonnet and toward the ferry (37km), then board the 9am ferry. Once on Bruny we will head straight toward the lighthouse. There will be a compulsory stop here because if you don’t take in this scenery then you need to reassess your riding priorities. There will be a 35km section of gravel (Lunawana-Lighthouse-Lunawana). Most of the gravel is LUSH, however there is a 3km section which can vary in quality, but still VERY rideable on a roadie. We will stop for lunch at Bruny Island Premium Wines in Lunawana (~115km into the ride). From there it will be a flat run back to the ferry. We will intend to get on the 3pm ferry (with the potential of having to get the 4pm ferry) but will make that judgment call based on when we get to the lunch stop and inform everyone on how quickly or slowly we need to eat lunch. Once in Kettering it will be a simple but seemingly hilly run back into town the way we came; toward Kingston, bonnet, sandy bay Rd. We will finish the ride in Salamanca for post ride celebrations.

For those not able to make the full ride we have two options for you:
ALTERNATIVE OPTION 1
Meet us for the start and help escort us toward the ferry. You will be required to find your own way back into town. If this is sounding like an option for you, we encourage you to get a group together and make a morning of it... because why not?
ALTERNATIVE OPTION 2
If you’ve been wanting an excuse to ride seemingly closed roads, view some pretty amazing scenery and ride with a great group of people, this option is for you. Join us at the ferry for the Bruny leg. You will be required to find your own way to and from the ferry.

We will have a support vehicle enroute. While you will be supported for whichever option you choose, please note that the support will be targeted toward the riders riding the whole route.

Join us on 7 October for a ride all about men’s mental health.
