Good practice before taking the climb behind the starting point in Sunset Park. This round here takes you from edge of Sunset Park that over looks the Missouri River. This path crosses two shelters with water fountains at each. Cross the street at Patterson and the bike path takes you to the a small bridge and forward to the park. Either enjoy the day at the park (1 lap around to include the lake is 1 mile). The park is boarded with fast food, a health club, and a highly qualified bike shop. Continue on the bike path that goes under an overpass and end up in old Florissant.
This path is great for walking, running, jogging, family, pets.
majority of the path is lighted at night, but please wear bright clothing and carry a flashlight... cyclist who are moving about 14-20 MPH, even with a headlight, it makes its almost impossible to see you until its too late! Therefore, do not assume the bike rider can see you, just because they have a light on their bike. Its more for you to see them riding.
