The Dish
Running Route

You haven't really run at Stanford until you've done "The Dish". The amazing views of the bay and close proximity to campus have made The Dish a standard for local runners. The 3.7 mile paved loop has some respectable ups and downs, making it a good place to do hill repeats or just a quick tough run. Along the way, you will see two large satellite dishes, giving the run its name, and lots of grazing cows. Most people will run the loop counter-clockwise because it's a more gradual two miles to the top instead of the strenuous one-mile ascent from the opposite direction. Security guards patrol the area and you will likely see plenty of other runners and walkers so it is safe to run alone here. Entrances to The Dish are on Junipero Serra Blvd. at Stanford Ave. and near Campus Drive. There are no restrooms or drinking fountains at The Dish. After your run, swing by local running store, Zombie Runner, for some gear and an excellent cup of coffee (yes, there's a coffee shop inside the running store!).
