Moor Retreats - Dartmoor Climbs
Cycling Route

This starts with an easy run down from Moretonhampstead to Bovey (technically an A-Road, but not busy) and then heads into the Haytor climb. Once over Haytor you'll drop off towards the south of the Moor in the direction of Ashburton and pick up the River Dart briefly before climbing up through Holne and out onto the Moor again (this is an excellent bit of road). I've then brought you back into Dartmeet to do that climb from the tough side. You'll then take a lovely road across the middle of the Moor, past Bellever, to link up with the B3212 near Postbridge. Turn left and ride up to Princetown and over Rundlestone. Loop through Princetown and head back East across the Moor. You could carry on down the hill from Rundlestone towards Tavistock and loop back via Walkhampton, but I'd suggest that there's probably enough climbing already without adding that. You'll then track back across the Moor (hopefully with a tailwind), past the Warren House Inn pub, before turning right and dropping down to Widecombe. Again, I've brought you in to tackle this one from the tough side. Over the top of the Widecombe climb you'll turn left and it's all fairly easy going from there back to Moretonhampstead.
