The Tour of Berwick is a Wednesday morning social bunch ride starting 5:30am each week in Berwick from the corner of Clyde Road & Princes Hwy. The ride generally finishes up around 6:50am with a quick coffee at Nomadic (74 High Street, Berwick).  This is a casual training ride for a group of friends but anyone is welcome to join. You are responsible for your own safety and it is recommended that you be a Cycling Australia member or Bicycle Network member so that you are covered by your own insurance.

About the ride route:
The ride has been designed to minimise riding in traffic where possible and generally goes against the flow of traffic. It starts with flat roads to warm up heading south down Clyde Road before turning in to Grices Road and heading back up North on Soldiers Road. There are a couple of points to exit the ride early should you need to get home and Princes Hwy is one of them. The bunch then heads east out along Princes Hwy through Beaconsfield before turning left on to Oneil Rd. This is where the climbing starts (2.5km @ 4% with a nice steep pitch of 10% for 300m). Riders stop at the top to regroup at the corner of Oneil and Payne Roads before descending down Payne Road and through the roundabout to Inglis Road. Another short climb (1km @ 3%) takes us back into Berwick. Anyone needing to get home early can pull the pin here at Lyall Road. The rest of us will head back up Harkaway Road for the longest climb of the day (3.2km @ 3%). This road can be busy so riders should probably be single file up this climb. Stop to regroup around the corner on Kings Road at the top of the hill then it's a fast decent down Robinsons Road with a steep little hill to attack at the bottom (300m @ 7%). Ride slow tempo over the other side allowing everyone to get back on then it's a fast rolling ride home down Ernst Wanke Rd and Parkhill Drive. We cross over Princes Hwy to ride the quite back roads back to Berwick via Mansfield Street.
