From the Nettleton Gluch parking lot, head up the Forrest Service Rd #1562, climbing until you see the communication towers; then you take a right onto Trail "D" (you just reached the top of W. Canfield Butte. Following the singletrack on Trail "D" , you'll cross the road #1562 and then continue on "D" until reaching The Island (a trail intersection of 6,7,10 and FS Rd #1562.
At this point, take Trail #10 up to E. Canfield Butte and continuing on Trail #10 crossing FS Rd #1562 and eventually coming trail "D". Stay on trail "D" to Dry Gluch Saddle (intersection of FS Rd. #1562, Trail "D", #11 and Trail #28). Here take Trail #28 (mile 11) up to Huckleberry Mt. (mile 13).
After reaching the top, continue on Trail #28 down to Trail #802 to Burnt Cabin Saddle (mile #17). Stay on Trail #802 to the top of Spades Mt. Here is the evidence of an old fire lookout (dismantled in 2015). Descend down on Trail #802 to the FS Rd. #406. Here you'll see the Trail #234 (Hell's Canyon Trail). Down you go to FS Rd. #437. Take a right and start your climb to Trail #14 (Chilco Trail), climbing to the elevation of 5661' (highest spot on this run). Take the time to enjoy the views before moving on to N. Chilco.
Stay on Trail #14 to the intersection or the summit trail to the top of N. Chilco (elevation 5635'). And then down you go staying on Trail #14 until you reach FS Rd. #332. Take a left, running on the road for a little over a mile then take a slight right onto FS Rd. #2708, climbing up to the top of Bernard Peak (the last major climb of this adventure). From here take the Boy Scout Trail to the bottom and follow the signs to Farragut State Park.
At this point, take Trail #10 up to E. Canfield Butte and continuing on Trail #10 crossing FS Rd #1562 and eventually coming trail "D". Stay on trail "D" to Dry Gluch Saddle (intersection of FS Rd. #1562, Trail "D", #11 and Trail #28). Here take Trail #28 (mile 11) up to Huckleberry Mt. (mile 13).
