That was a bust...storm is too warm. Upper mountain closed. Lower mtn rainy garbage and starving skiers. We did get a no crowd and powder mountain run in though!! We tried our best hunting off KT, red dog, exhibition, funitel all were meh

I want to start tracking everyday snow quality and at the end of the year after multiple years and resorts compare how much effort versus how much reward was done. Reward is number of runs and elevation as that's pretty much equal to how good the skiing is. Then I'll start booking trips completely based on snow quality. My goal this year is to force less, fight for fewer powder days, I really don't care for powder days and it doesn't substantially improve my fun. In fact powder days are nothing but fomo and annoying people that have also been taught to think powder is the dream. It's a fallacy they are chasing and they can't ski it anyways. 

The kids are great skiers now so it's all about finding great runs and having fun. The suffering of early learning repition in every snow condition is done. I want the highest probability of low crowds (maximum number of runs), packed powder and spring like conditions. That's where I'm headed.

The ski score doesn't translate directly to happiness as I'm happy to get on the mountain and spend all this time with family, but it does correlate to the effort required to reach peak.

It would be cool if lots of people ranked different mountains so you could get a "best" mtn based on actual skiing data not marketing garbage you see online. Maybe I can farm some strava data to get average run counts and vert per person across the world

So the math:.
If I only skin half days because the conditions are mediocre, then I'm wasting half my money. If I travel somewhere with 7 straight good days then I get to ski probably five hard full days. 14 mediocre days is the same as 7 full quality days. Now we have a cost per full day equivalent score

I need a little bit more money to pull this off so this year is a good learning, optimize and plan for the future. Basically this will become the where should dad live throughout the year for max lifestyle
