The wife booked her and I a moonlight train ride through the Sierra National Forest (aka out backyard) at the sugar pine railroad. If you are ever in this area visiting Yosemite, there’s so much more to do than Yosemite. I highly recommend the Sugar Pine Railroad and taking a tour around the forest. 

The ride was fantastic but the date night ripped! My son babysat my daughter, for $15/hr 😵‍💫, but I almost fuked this up bad. I can easily ride to the train through the forest so added on a bigger loop, thinking I’d be fine on time. I was not. 

Being 20-30min late to a dinner or something isn’t too bad, but if I made us miss the train… bro, she’d be PISSSSED. I knew I should’ve not added on the extra bit, but I justified that I’ll just ride harder. 

My wife had told me we HAD to be there by 6pm. So when I still deep in the woods at 5:50, I started think, what if this is a very time sensitive thing? What if the train leaves at 6? Ah shit, bro we gotta go! 

I fly into the back parking out of the woods at 6:20, I’m freaking out cause I still need to change, and I meet my wife at the car and I frantically start undressing when Kristin says “why are moving so fast?” I said, “the train is gonna leave any minute right?”. 

Kristin says, “No, I knew if I told you the train left at 7:30, you’d probably be late. But if told you 6, you’d be early.” Which I took as such a sign of love even though I’m fuckstick and was late, she knows me well enough to know I’d be late but corrected for it without getting mad, she thought it was funny that it worked as she had expected.
