Haymakers on Boxing Day w/ Joel and Cooper

Goal was 5 @ GMP (~6 min), 5 @ 5:55, and 5k @ 5:50 or faster. Nice and sunny, ditched clothes (and gel wrappers) at my car on each loop and was in just half tights and a tshirt for the last 4 laps or so. Certainly some tempo loop effect in there, but feel cautiously optimistic about how this went in the context of overall training. Took a gel every 5k and my stomach handled it well. Need a cold (but calm!) day in Houston in the worst way, was sweaty by the end of this. Also need a good taper. Glad the campus loop was mostly clear (just one flooded part by the arts center) and calm today. Japandroids came on shuffle at the end of my warm-up and it was enough to get me all fired up.
